This Privacy Policy explains how Robots Fight (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you visit Robots Fight or use any of its features. By using the site you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
- Account information — if you register, we store your username, email address, and password (stored as a secure one-way hash, never in plain text).
- Submissions — the fight links, titles, descriptions, robot and team names, and any other details you provide when submitting content.
- Usage data — technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device, pages viewed, and referring pages, collected automatically by our servers and analytics.
- Contact data — the name, email address, and message you send us through the contact form.
2. How We Use Your Information
- to create and manage your account and to credit your submissions;
- to review, moderate, publish, and display submitted fights;
- to respond to your messages and support requests;
- to operate, secure, and improve the site and prevent abuse and spam;
- to send you important account or service emails.
3. Legal Bases for Processing
Where the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies, we rely on the following legal bases: your consent (for optional cookies and marketing, where required); the performance of a contract (to provide your account and process submissions); our legitimate interests (to keep the site secure and improve it); and legal obligations (where we must retain or disclose data).
4. Cookies and Tracking
We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and to protect forms against abuse. With your consent we may also use analytics cookies to understand how the site is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling essential cookies may prevent parts of the site from working.
5. Third-Party Content and Embeds
Fight videos are embedded from external platforms such as YouTube. When you play an embedded video or interact with it, the host platform may set its own cookies and process your data under its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review those policies. We do not control third-party tracking.
6. Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We may share it with service providers who help us run the site (such as hosting and email providers), with authorities where required by law, or as part of a merger or acquisition. Where we use processors, they are bound to protect your data.
7. Data Retention
We keep account and submission data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, and contact messages for as long as needed to handle your enquiry. We delete or anonymise data when it is no longer needed, unless we are required to keep it for legal reasons.
8. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. You can update much of your information from your account. To exercise your rights, email us at [email protected].
9. Children’s Privacy
Robots Fight is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will remove it.
10. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and hashed passwords. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. International Transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including by our hosting and service providers. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The date at the top of the page shows the latest revision. Continued use of the site after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
13. Contact
For privacy questions or requests, email [email protected].
